Rick Beck
Rev. Rick Beck is a retired pastor of 32 years’ experience with the Moravian Church, serving four churches across North America. Most of his ministry has been in team ministry with his wife, Wendy who also is an ordained pastor. Storytelling has always been a valuable form of exploring deep truth for Rick, and spiritual direction explores the story of one’s journey with the Holy Mystery we call God. “There is only one story, God’s story, and we each contribute a verse.” Rick says.
Rick has always had a spiritual director’s heart so, in 2009, he completed a training program to become a spiritual director with the FCJ Christian Life Centre. He was invited to join the spiritual directors training team at the FCJ Centre in September of that same year, where he continues to teach and offer retreats. In February of 2018, Rick completed additional training which qualifies him to supervise practicing spiritual directors.
Currently, Rick serves thirteen clients and facilitates three spiritual direction groups. He also serves on the Board of Elders Canadian District (BECD) of the Moravian Church. Rick is married with two grown children and one grandchild.
